Honor has officially listed its latest entry-level smartphones, the Honor Play 400 and Honor Play 400 Pro, on the company's Chinese website. This quiet unveiling precedes a formal launch event, providing comprehensive details on specifications, configurations, and pricing for both devices. Pre-orders for the new models are currently active in China, with the Honor Play 400 scheduled for general sale on May 13, followed by the Honor Play 400 Pro on May 17.

The standard Honor Play 400 model features a 6.67-inch LCD panel, delivering an FHD+ resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display is rated for a peak brightness of 850 nits. Performance is managed by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 system-on-chip. Consumers can select from three memory and storage configurations: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage.
For photography, the Honor Play 400 is equipped with a dual rear camera system, comprising a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. An 8MP front-facing camera is provided for selfies and video calls. The device is powered by a substantial 5,200 mAh battery that supports 35W charging. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Honor Play 400 will be available in Magic Night Black, Star Purple, and Ink Jade Green color options. The base model is priced at CNY 1,099, which is approximately equivalent to $150, €140, or ₹12,500.

The more advanced Honor Play 400 Pro model sports a 6.7-inch OLED display, also with an FHD+ resolution (2412×1080 pixels), but offers an enhanced 120Hz refresh rate and a significantly higher peak brightness of 2600 nits. This display also incorporates 3840Hz PWM dimming technology for improved eye comfort. The Pro version is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. It is offered in two configurations: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage.
The rear camera specifications for the Play 400 Pro include a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, also paired with a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera resolution remains at 8MP. The Pro model benefits from a slightly larger 5,500 mAh battery, maintaining the 35W charging capability. A key distinction is the inclusion of an under-display fingerprint scanner, a feature not present on the standard model. The Honor Play 400 Pro will be available in Magic Night Black, Starry Sky Blue, and Moonlight White. Pricing for the Pro variant starts at CNY 1,699, translating to approximately $235, €220, or ₹19,700.

The appearance of the Honor Play 400 and Play 400 Pro on the official website indicates an imminent full market release in China, further expanding Honor's offerings in the competitive entry-level smartphone segment.
